About the SD IAC

James E. Stamps, a Fisk University alumnus, founded the National Alumni Council (NAC) in 1946. His purpose was to establish a national alumni organization to serve the needs of private historically black colleges and universities in partnership with UNCF. All graduates of UNCF schools are automatically members of the National Alumni Council. This National Alumni Council is represented across the country through Inter Alumni Councils.

The UNCF San Diego Inter Alumni Council (SD IAC) is a newly established fundraising non profit organization of concerned graduates, current students, and individuals from the community who want to advance the cause of African Americans in higher education as well as all underserved students who want to complete a college education. We continue to seek new members to join the ranks of this organization to promote the National Alumni Council's goals in the San Diego area:
  • Raise funds for UNCF's member colleges and universities.
  • Recruit students for UNCF member institutions.
  • Encourage cooperation among black alumni groups and friends of black higher education.
  • Provide a national forum for educational issues.
  • Stimulate public awareness and interest in UNCF colleges and universities.
We look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
